This post will show you how to scan your entire PC and delete malicious files (files with virus or infected) from your PC without the use of external paid anti-virus service. Malicious files slows down the performance of your PC and sometimes can even crash your PC.
Press windows + R on your windows PC, on the search box that appear type in ‘mrt’ and press OK.
Within few seconds, it will bring a pop up message like running administrator ‘User Account Control – do you want to allow the following program to make changes to your computer?’ click on Yes
It will take you to Microsoft Windows Software Removal Tool, click on next to continue
Next page will prompt you to select the kind of scan you want to perform on your PC, you will have to choose either Quick scan, Full scan or Customized scan and click on next to proceed
I’ll choose quick scan to scan the PC, depending on the amount of files you have on your PC it may take a little time for the quick scan option.
If you you have a clean PC without any malicios files, you will get a message as shown below
