WhatsApp introduced a feature called list which is used to group chats in folders. With the List feature you can categorize your chats into folders for easy accessibility if you’re someone that have many chats, for instance you can create a folder for office colleagues, family members, club members etc. This post will show you how to arrange your chats into folder in WhatsApp.
To create a List (chat folders) on WhatsApp follow the steps below:
On your WhatsApp home, the default list are pinned to the top. WhatsApp create 3 lists by default: unread, groups and favourites. The unread and groups folders can be deleted or renamed but the favourites folder cannot be deleted

You can create a new list by tapping on the (+) icon in the screenshot above. You can also view the full list to modify the existing list or folders name or create a new by from settings > list (you can navigate to settings from the three dots at the top right corner).

To edit the list, click on the pen icon at the top right, you can also use this option to re-position the list. click on ‘create a custom list’ to create a new list, input the name of the list e.g Family and click on ‘Add people or groups’ you’ll then select the contacts or groups you wish to add to the list.
